Holi is known as festival of sharing love and unity but we all love Holi because it’s a festival of colours ! Usually people write about white outfits to wear on Rangpanchmi day and how to style it ,but to be honest I will never waste a new white outfit on Holi and spoil it with colours , that’s why I am doing a different kind of post this Holi.
When we check our wardrobes for a festive outfit we think why our closet is short on different colours , that why we keep buying same colours over and over again. Our closet is full of Blacks, Reds and Blues and we keep wondering how did we end up buying it. Todays post is all about choosing different colours for your wardrobe and revamping it by adding following colours!
Pastels or pastel colours are usually described as ‘soothing’ , ‘soft’ , ‘near neutral’, ‘milky’, ‘washed out’ , lacking strong chromatic content. Pink, Mauve, Baby blue are typical pastel colors. For this post I have chosen two different pastels in my outfits baby pink and Mint green
This colour is usually described as girly and kiddish because this colour is usually popular in this population. But by styling this colour in a right way you can work wonders with it. For this post I am sharing my pics from my visit to Sindhudurg fort where I wore baby pink and pastel orange dress with style!
This colour is bright and cheerful , yet muted enough to look sassy. Since the time I first saw a mint green outfit on pinterest I became a fan of this colour, for this post I am wearing a mint green mast and harbour bow top paired with black dhoti pants. Keeping the season under consideration this outfit is perfect to beat the heat this Holi!
MUST HAVE MUSTARD
Mustard is a dark yellow colour that resembles culinary mustard. Everyone like the mustard sauce right ? but hardly anyone chooses to buy this colour when they are shopping. The reason why everyone should at least own one outfit of this colour is that this colour will always make you stand out in crowd also because it’s a great photogenic colour. if you don’t believe me check out this link about 33 reasons mustard yellow is the best. In this post I a wearing a mustard dress from globus.
Aureolin is nothing but a dark neonish shade of yellow also known as cobalt yellow . This colour is usually used by artists for paintings and graffiti . Because of its loud appeal people usually are afraid to add such colour to their wardrobe but If this colour can look good in a rangoli , it will definitely look good in your outfit . I am adding this colour to the list because this colour reminds me of a Puran poli. If you are close to Maharashtrian culture you will definitely know the importance of this dish on Holi 😁

Holi celebrations start on the night before rangpanchami with a holika bonfire where people gather , sing , dance and party. The flames of this bonfire is considered very holy and it has a specific colour , that’s where colour ‘fire orange’ originates from. This colour is supposed to be colour of fire and not many people will have this colour in their wardrobes. This colour looks amazing in photos , you guys see for yourself in my pictures. For this post I am wearing a fire orange boho dress by global desi to show beauty of this colour.
